Paper Points for Root Canal Treatment

The paper points, made from absorbent paper, are ideally suited for drying the canals during root canal treatment due to their tapered shape. In addition, they can be used to introduce medications into the root canal.

Sterile Paper Points

After preparing the root canal and performing disinfection, irrigation, and cleaning, the canal is dried using paper points. Various tapers and sizes are available for this purpose. The different sizes are ISO-standardised and colour-coded, allowing the dentist to easily select the appropriate size.

The points are firm and tightly rolled yet still provide high flexibility. This allows even curved root tips to be reached, dried, or medicated up to the apex.

The graduated design offers the practitioner a high level of safety when estimating canal depth. The sterile Iso-Taper paper points ensure safe drying of the root canal during endodontic treatment. The chemical-free, highly absorbent paper points remain firm and flexible even when wet.

Medication Placement with Paper Points

After completing the canal preparation, antimicrobial therapy can be continued by placing a medication such as calcium hydroxide, chlorhexidine, or camphor-paramonochlorophenol.

The medication is inserted into the root canal for a limited period using the paper point as a carrier, creating a bacteria-free environment.
