Electrodes for Electrocardiographic Derivations
ECG electrodes serve to register the electrical voltage changes of the heart, along with heart muscle contractions, and send their signals to the ECG machine. Depending on how they are attached to the patient, one can differentiate between adhesive electrodes, suction electrodes and clip electrodes.
Single-Use Adhesive Electrodes
The Biotabs Adhesive ECG Electrodes offer a particularly secure hold and can be used with both crocodile and universal clips. The disposable ECG electrodes can be used on extremities and chest leads.
Suction Electrodes Hold via Negative Pressure
Suction electrodes are reusable electrodes that are equipped with a negative pressure generating rubber ball. This negative pressure ensures that the electrodes securely adhere to the patient's skin. Suction electrodes are used for chest cavity derivations, and their signal quality is improved with the use of contact mediums like ECG gel or electrode cream.
In our shop, you will find the Teqler Suction Electrode for children or adults. The blue rubber ball creates a suction effect and the electrode is equipped with a connection for rivet buttons or banana plugs. The signal can additionally be improved by using conductive wet gel or electrode spray.
Clip Electrodes for Extremity Derivation
Electrode Gel, Cream and Spray for Excellent Lead Quality
To bridge the distance between the electrodes and the skin and to improve the lead quality, one can use different kinds of contact media. The most popular solutions are electrode gel, electrode cream and contact spray. When choosing a product, one should always be careful to choose a hypoallergenic product that does not stain.
