Emergency Bags and Backpacks for Rescue Operations

The Emergency Bag – A True All-Rounder
The classic emergency bag comes with both handles and a shoulder strap, allowing it to be carried by hand or over the shoulder/back. Emergency bags are generally made from water-resistant fabrics such as nylon. Some models use waterproof and dirt-resistant materials, like tarpaulin, making them ideal for outdoor operations on uneven terrain. Tarpaulin bags can be washed and reused, while nylon bags often need replacement after heavy use.
Emergency bags are available in various sizes. From small modular bags, such as the Teqler modular bag for specific applications like burn care, to large bags with multiple outer pockets, this category offers a comprehensive selection of high-quality bags for rescue operations.

The Emergency Backpack – Extra Freedom of Movement
Unlike emergency bags, backpacks allow rescuers to keep both hands free. This is particularly advantageous in difficult terrain, when transporting a patient on a stretcher, or when additional equipment must be carried simultaneously.
Backpacks are typically organised with modular bags inside, like the Teqler modular bag, which can be attached with Velcro and removed individually. External pockets provide extra storage space for additional equipment.

Emergency Cases – Safely Transport Sensitive Equipment
Emergency cases are made from robust materials like plastic or aluminium, providing effective protection for sensitive equipment. These cases are durable, water-resistant, and easy to clean, making them long-lasting and distinct from soft bags that may need frequent replacement.
Like emergency bags and backpacks, cases are available empty or pre-filled. Companies such as Söhngen and Weinmann offer pre-stocked cases tailored to various emergency situations, covering areas such as ventilation, intubation, oxygen therapy, wound care, diagnostics, and injection/infusion.
First Aid Kits – Ideal for On-Site Responders
Unlike emergency bags, backpacks, or cases, first aid kits are intended for use in workplaces and facilities to provide immediate assistance until professional help arrives. They are designed for laypersons and are stocked differently from professional emergency kits. According to DIN 13157 and 13169, they include bandages, gloves, scissors, and first aid instructions.
