Defibrillator
In medical settings, a defibrillator can be used to interrupt life-threatening heart rhythm disturbances, during cardiac arrest, circulatory arrest or heart attack. The survival rate of a person experiencing ventricular fibrillation decreases by up to 10% per minute. Using a defibrillator, however, increases the survival rate from 10% to 70%. A good defibrillator is ready for use within seconds, easy to operate, and provides automatic audio instructions. Such a device significantly improves the chance of survival during cardiac arrest and, alongside chest compressions, offers an effective way to provide immediate help and potentially save a life. In our online shop, we offer high-quality defibrillators suitable for both laypersons and medical professionals.
Defibrillators are classified according to their function and operation as manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic devices.
Manual Defibrillators
With manual defibrillators, the user can monitor the ECG and heart rate on the display. The control over the defibrillation process (energy level, shock delivery) is managed by the first responder in this mode.
Semi-Automatic and Fully Automatic Defibrillators
All defibrillators used outside of medical facilities are considered automated defibrillators. This means the user does not need to decide whether a shock is required in an emergency. Instead, the device first analyses the heart rhythm automatically via the electrodes.
If a shockable rhythm (e.g., ventricular fibrillation) is detected, the shock button on semi-automatic AEDs will flash. The patient receives the shock once the user presses the button. Fully automatic devices, on the other hand, deliver the shock automatically after a countdown.
Training Devices
Special AED trainer devices have been developed, such as the LifeLine Trainer DDU-2000, which are visually and functionally very similar to operational devices. These trainers allow realistic practice scenarios.
Of course, we also offer the suitable defibrillator accessories.
