This principle is based on autologous blood therapy, in which approximately 5 ml of blood is taken from the patient's arm vein, prepared and re-injected into another area of the body, preferably via a gluteal intramuscular injection. The blood injected into another part of the body is perceived by the immune system as a foreign body, so that the body's own defences are stimulated. Treatment with autologous blood is considered to be a non-specific stimulation therapy and is used against diseases such as allergic reactions, skin diseases and many more.

The PRP tubes with sodium citrate from the manufacturer disera are optionally available with or without gel. They are approved as a class IIb medical device and guarantee a pure and reliable end product. The collection of platelet-rich plasma is extremely easy with the sets and effectively eliminates the risk of contamination.
The sets consist of three different tubes. Regardless of the variant, the PRP tubes contain sodium citrate, which prevents blood clotting. The third blood tube is a re-suspension tube, where the concentrated preparation can be collected. Storing autologous blood concentrate in the re-suspension tube guarantees a homogenous product for up to 60 minutes.
If required, the PRP tubes are also available as a PRP kit including all consumables necessary for preparation.
