eGK Card Readers for Reading the Health Insurance Card
The traditional health insurance card has been replaced since January 2014 by the electronic health card (eGK), which includes a photograph of the insured person. For verification purposes and to enable the treating doctor to invoice services with the patient’s health insurance provider, patients must present their insurance card once per quarter. As a result, card readers are standard equipment in registered medical practices.

The package is sealed with a tamper-evident security seal, giving you assurance that it has not been opened by third parties prior to delivery. In addition, the previously issued proof of receipt must be presented upon handover.
