Vein Finders for the Medical Surgery & Hospital
There are essentially two types of vein finders: Vein finders with side-transillumination technology and vein finders with NIR (near infrared light).
Vein Finders with LED Side Transillumination
Devices with this illumination technology use circularly arranged light sources to provide shadow-free lighting over a limited area. The vein finder is placed directly on the patient’s skin and, if necessary, moved slightly to trace the course of the veins. Typically, LEDs in orange and/or red are used for side transillumination. The light penetrates a few millimeters into the skin, making superficial veins clearly visible. This makes it much easier to locate puncturable veins and perform venipuncture accurately.
These devices are also used in angiology. To prevent infection transmission, disposable protective covers are usually placed over the device and discarded after use.
At Praxisdienst, you can find various vein finders with LED side transillumination, such as the Veinlite TransLite devices (Veinlite LEDX or Veinlite LED+), along with suitable protective covers – all available at affordable prices.
Vein Finders with Near-Infrared (NIR) Technology
The advantage of NIR vein finders is the hygienic use without direct skin contact. Unlike devices with side transillumination, NIR vein finders are held at a certain distance above the area to be examined. The vein pattern is projected onto the skin surface, allowing the underlying vein to be visualized as a clear projection.
Different display modes even allow you to estimate how deep the vein lies beneath the skin. This ensures high safety during venipuncture and prevents unnecessary failed attempts. Since the device never touches the patient’s skin, no disposable covers or additional consumables are needed, eliminating ongoing costs.
In the vein finder category, we offer NIR devices such as the Veinsight VS400 from BLZ Tech, along with suitable device holders.
In the Diagnostics category, you will also find a wide range of additional devices, including suitable accessories, products for wellness and therapy, as well as teaching aids and anatomical models.
