Padding Protects Sensitive Areas Under Wraps
Padding bandages and wadding are used to protect bones or other exposed areas during the application of plaster or cast bandages from pressure points. In addition, padding bandages are often used as an underlayer in compression bandaging of oedemas to prevent uncomfortable pressure spots for the patient. The padding bandage is therefore also included in many lymphatic care sets, such as the Rosidal Lymphset.
The material of the padding bandages is designed to provide excellent cushioning while remaining skin-friendly, allowing it to remain on the skin for several weeks without causing irritation. Additionally, a fixation bandage is often used to secure the padding.
Padding Bandages & Crepe Paper Wrap for Underpadding
Padding bandages are also ideal for cushioning splints, providing a pressure layer for ointment dressings, or for applying wadding shoes in cases of existing peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Wadding or padding is available either as sheets or rolls. In addition to padding bandages, this category also includes crepe bandages for underpadding, which are often used as skin protection under plaster casts, such as the elastic Crepe Bandage from Lohmann & Rauscher. Suitable tubular bandages for underlayering are also available in our dressing material range.
