Laryngoskope zur Atemwegssicherung
Das Laryngoskop (auch Kehlkopfspiegel genannt) wird verwendet, um den Tubus im Rahmen der endotrachealen Intubation durch den Mund des Patienten in die Luftröhre einzuführen. Dabei stellt das Laryngoskop sicher, dass der Tubus unter Sicht durch die Stimmritze in die Trachea vorgeschoben werden kann.
Griffe
Spatel
Die Wahl des richtigen Spatels erleichtert das Einführen des Trachealtubus und beugt Verletzungen vor. Man kann grundsätzlich zwischen Miller und Macintosh Spateln unterscheiden. Der Spatel nach Macintosh ist gebogen, während der Miller-Spatel eine gerade Form hat. Gerade Spatel kommen vor allem bei Neugeborenen, Babys und Kindern zum Einsatz, da in diesem Alter die Epiglottis noch verformbar ist. Der Kehlkopf-Eingang lässt sich durch die gerade Form des Spatels nach Miller besser darstellen. Erwachsene werden hingegen in vielen Fällen besser mit gebogenen Macintosh-Spateln intubiert.
