Pulse Oximeters
A pulse oximeter measures pulse and the oxygen saturation (SpO2 value) in the blood using sensors on the fingertip. The procedure of pulse oximetry is mainly used in the continuous monitoring of oxygen levels of patients, for instance in medical facilities, and is commonly used in rescue services, emergency medicine and for athletes.
Finger Pulse Oximeters
Handheld Pulse Oximeters
Pulse Oximeters for Children
For children, handheld pulse oximeters with interchangeable sensors are particularly suitable for use in paediatrics and neonatology. They offer the advantage of being equipped with appropriate finger sensors, ensuring a higher level of hygiene, better alarm adjustability, and often the ability to transfer data to a PC via USB. Here, the NONIN PalmSAT with the matching sensor is a good choice. For quick and mobile use, lightweight models specifically designed for children, such as those from Yonker, are also recommended.
Devices for Sleep Monitoring
To measure oxygen saturation and pulse during sleep for the exclusion of sleep apnoea, there are special pulse oximeters, such as wrist-worn pulse oximeters. These devices attach to the wrist and include a finger sensor with a short cable, so the patient does not lose the device or sensor during the night. Alternatively, handheld pulse oximeters with a dedicated sleep mode, such as the Nellcor Bedside SpO2, can also be used. With a data storage capacity of up to 80 hours, these devices are ideal for monitoring oxygen saturation and heart rate during sleep.
In the Praxisdienst online shop, you will find a wide range of affordable pulse oximeters for non-invasive measurement of oxygen saturation and pulse. We also offer a large selection of compatible SpO2 sensors, carrying cases, and protective covers for each device.
