Asthma Management with FeNO Measurement

Whether allergic or non-allergic asthma - in cases of chronic inflammation of the airways, close monitoring of inflammation levels is crucial for patients. This makes it possible to adjust therapy at an early stage in order to better manage the disease. FeNO meters determine the degree of inflammation of the lower airways by measuring the amount of nitric oxide (NO) contained and exhaled in the air we breathe.

Checking FeNO Levels At The Doctor's Office

Since neither peak flow measurement nor lung function tests are sufficient to diagnose chronic asthma with certainty, more and more doctors around the world are using FeNO meters for diagnostic purposes. The nitrogen monoxide in the patient's breath can be used to determine whether the patient has asthma or not. Compared to other examinations, this method is particularly comfortable to perform. The Vivatmo pro from BOSCH can be operated intuitively thanks to user-friendly animations on the touch screen of the base station. In addition, there are no long waiting times due to the time-consuming evaluation of test results. The Vivatmo pro displays the measurement results immediately after the measurement.

FeNO Testing from the Comfort of Your Own Home

It is also important for asthma patients to be able to monitor their symptoms at home in order to have a good overview of the course of the disease. Measuring devices such as the Vivatmo me and the corresponding Vivatmo app make this possible without any problems.

Like the Vivatmo pro, the Vivatmo me can be operated intuitively. While a traffic light colour indicator on the device signals whether breathing strength is sufficient, the traffic light indicator on the display facilitates uncomplicated and quick result interpretation. The free Vivatmo app also enables clear documentation of the values on a smartphone via Bluetooth. In addition, the app makes it possible to create monthly reports for the attending physician.
