In medicine, the term dressings encompasses a wide variety of compresses, bandages, plasters, compression bandages, swabs and tampons, as well as net and tubular bandages. Hartmann offers the hydro-active wound pad HydroClean specifically for moist wound care of poorly healing and infected wounds. Activated with Ringer’s solution, it simultaneously cleans the wound, absorbs exudate, and loosens necrotic tissue and debris. By creating a moist wound environment for up to 24 hours, it prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound and accelerates wound healing. At the same time, the moisture-repellent layer prevents the dressing from becoming wet, making dressing changes significantly less irritating and less painful for the patient.
