Positioning Aids for Physiotherapy, Hospitals & Surgery

Medical positioning aids, like positioning cushions and bed wedges, are used in physiotherapy and nursing as well as in hospitals and doctors' surgeries for professional and comfortable positioning of patients, for example during treatment or after a surgical procedure. The type of bed wedge needed depends on whether the patient needs to be lying on their back or on their side, and where on the body there needs to be a reduction in pressure, i.e., the lower back, the leg or the heel.

 

The cover on positioning wedges and positioning cushions is usually made from a robust, disinfectant tolerant material, while the core of these cushions typically consists of some form of foam, such as memory foam, in order to ensure patient comfort in bed or on the treatment table. 

Medical Positioning Aids for Everyday Hospital Use

We offer various pillows, neck rolls or wedge pillows for optimal positioning of the patient on the treatment table or in bed, for everyday use in the practice and clinic. Particularly popular is the Neck Support Bolster with imitation leather cover made of bi-elastic memory foam, which can also be used as a resting pillow. The foam bolster is available in different colours and lengths.

 

A wedge pillow is often used to elevate the arm. In our online shop, you will find the Wedge Bolster from Teqler made of a washable and disinfection-resistant material, in various sizes and colours.

 

In addition to medical positioning cushions, we also offer 40 x 40 cm Neck Pillows, which can be used in a variety of ways, for example as a neck support pillow or also as a seat pillow for a treatment chair or wheelchair to make sitting for long periods easier.

Positioning Aids for the Operating Theatre

Especially during surgical interventions, it is important that the patient is positioned optimally and precisely on the treatment bed so that the surgeon has good access to the area to be operated on and the patient's comfort is assured. In our online shop we stock, for example, the Tempur Surgical Arm Rest with breathable and waterproof cover. The support cushion has a depression for resting the arm, which enables a comfortable and optimal positioning of the arm-elbow area.

 

For positioning the head during and after an operation, we offer the Tempur Surgical Pillow with a hygienic, moisture-repellent cover as a suitable pillow. Its special shape helps reduce pressure and supports the neck and shoulder area. 

 

Lymph Drainage Bolster

In the category of positioning aids we also provide a special bed wedge made of foam for use during lymphatic drainage. This positioning cushion brings the patient's legs into a slightly bent, stable position and has a long service life due to the high-quality artificial leather cover.

 

Positioning Aids for Repositioning Patients

The transfer aids are particularly suitable for use in hospitals and nursing homes, as they can also be used to transfer unconscious and immobile patients with little effort.
