Lab Coats for Healthcare Professionals

Among the wide range of medical workwear, one garment has a particularly long-standing tradition: the lab coat.

Also referred to as a doctor’s coat or consultation coat, the lab coat has long been a symbol of the medical profession and is still worn today by doctors in clinics and hospitals.

Most lab coats feature a chest pocket and two side pockets, providing convenient storage for everyday essentials such as pens, diagnostic lights, pagers, mobile phones, or notes. Depending on the pocket size, even a stethoscope can be stored securely. The coat is cut to be worn comfortably over a T-shirt, polo shirt, shirt, or blouse. This slightly relaxed fit, combined with side slits for movement, ensures excellent freedom of movement, which is essential during many examinations and treatments.

 

To meet the strict hygiene standards in clinical settings, lab coats are made from high-quality materials that can withstand washing at high temperatures. Typically, these materials are either 100% cotton or a cotton-polyester blend.
