Worth 4-Dot Flashlight
The Worth 4-Dot Test can be performed with the help of the red-green torch from Trusetal. The Worth test is used to determine strabismus and the presence of binocular vision.
To perform the test, the patient puts on red-green glasses (not included in the delivery). From a distance of 4 to 5 metres, the lights arranged in a diamond shape are then viewed. The upper light is red, the two middle ones on the right and left are green and the lower one is white. Through the glasses, only the white light can be seen with both eyes, as the red glasses cover the green lights and the green glasses cover the red light.
People with normal vision recognize the lights in the arrangement mentioned above. People with strabismus see 5 lights or double images that appear shifted against each other. If colour vision is severely disturbed with both eyes, the affected person sees the lower white light together with the upper red or the two green lights in the middle.
