If a particularly fast wound closure is required, B.Braun's Histoacryl tissue adhesive, for example, is recommended. The adhesive consists of a monomer (n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate) that polymerises in combination with the tissue fluid within 10 seconds. In addition, the glue forms a protective layer that protects the area from bacterial contamination.

In general, it should be noted that the wound adhesive is only applied to clean and dry wounds that have stopped bleeding. Additionally, when treating with wound adhesives, possible contraindications such as the use of medications that influence blood clotting or known intolerances to the ingredients must be considered.
