Pulse Oximeters
Pulse Oximeters
A pulse oximeter measures pulse and the oxygen saturation (SpO2 value) in the blood using sensors on the fingertip. The procedure of pulse oximetry is mainly used in the continuous monitoring of oxygen levels of patients, for instance in medical facilities, and is commonly used in rescue services, emergency medicine and for athletes.
Finger Pulse Oximeters
The BEURER PO 80 for measuring blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate on the finger is particularly well suited for the homecare sector due to its ease of use. For optimal readability, the brightness of the screen can be adjusted and thanks to the automatically changing display direction, the values can be read easily by the patients themselves. With its integrated USB connection, the measured values can be transferred to the PC and evaluated there with the help of free software. The BEURER PO 80 for attachment to the finger is also suitable for use by athletes, for example.
Whether for the doctor's surgery, nursing or rescue service - the finger pulse oximeters are specially designed for spot check measurements in the medical field. The Rossmax finger pulse oximeter SB200 clearly stands out with its APG index measurement. Based on this function, the arteriosclerosis status can be determined in addition to the value of the oxygen saturation and the pulse rate. By measuring the flow velocity of the blood, it is possible to assess the elasticity of the vessel walls. This procedure provides important information about the presence and degree of arteriosclerosis and can thus be easily determined as part of an SpO2 measurement.
Handheld Pulse Oximeters
The oximeter UT 100 from Utech Co is characterised by its large, easy-to-read and illuminated colour display, which not only shows the oxygen levels and pulse rate, but also perfusion index and patient information. The alarm limit for low oxygen saturation can be set individually on the device and the various alarms for low battery charge or fallen sensor provide a high level of safety for patient monitoring. The pulse oximeter is supplied with a comprehensive accessories pack.
The Nellcor PM10N handheld pulse oximeter from Covidien is particularly well suited for patient transport, hospitals and care facilities. With its advanced signal processing technology, it provides accurate measurements of blood oxygen levels and heart rate even in particularly difficult monitoring situations. With the sleep mode and a data storage capacity of 80 hours, the pulse oximeter can also be used for sleep monitoring. All Nellcor sensors with OxiMax technology are compatible, so the device can be used for all patient groups.
Pulse Oximeters for Children
For children, handheld pulse oximeters with exchangeable sensors are particularly suitable for use in paediatrics and neonatology. Not only do they have the advantage of being fitted with the appropriate sensors, but they also offer a higher level of hygiene, better customisability of the alarms and, in most cases, the possibility of data transfer to a PC via USB cable. In this case, the NONIN PalmSAT 2500A and the matching sensor are the right choice.
Devices for Sleep Monitoring
There are special pulse oximeters, such as wrist pulse oximeters, for measuring oxygen saturation and pulse during sleep to rule out sleep apnoea. These devices can be attached to the wrist and are equipped with a finger sensor with a short cable so that the patient does not lose the device and the sensor during the night. Alternatively, handheld pulse oximeters with a special sleep function, such as the Nellcor Bedside Sp02, can be used. Especially due to the data storage capacity of 80 hours, the device is ideal for measuring oxygen saturation and heart rate while sleeping.
You will find a wide range of affordable pulse oximeters for non-invasive measurement of oxygen saturation in the Praxisdienst online shop. In addition, we offer a wide range of matching SpO2 sensors, bags and protective covers for the individual measuring devices.
