The Dermatoscope for Skin Examination in Dermatology
The dermatoscope is a diagnostic instrument that is used in dermatology to perform thorough examinations of a patient's skin (dermoscopy) for skin lesions or signs of cancer (skin cancer prevention, early recognition and screening). The most common use of the dermatoscope is for diagnostic observation of moles. The dermatoscope consists of a light source, combined with a microscope and a contact plate, and comes in various versions thereof.
Wide Range of Dermatoscopes & Dermatology Products
In this category, you will find dermatoscope heads which can be used together with a compatible handle or battery handle (rechargeable handle), as well as the compatible contact plates. As with compact, polarised light dermatoscopes, some instrument heads can be used with dermoscopy oil as a contact liquid, which makes the outer skin layer transparent; thus allowing for a more accurate diagnosis. Others, like the HEINE Delta 20, can even be connected to a digital camera to document the results of the examination and thus, determine proper care.
Our online shop offers you a large assortment of DermLite dermatoscopes, as well as those with scaled contact plates from HEINE Optotechnik, Welch Allyn, KaWe and Riester. In addition to the classic dermatoscope offered here, you may also browse polarised light dermatoscopes.
