Rectoscopes, Proctoscopes & Anoscopes for the Clinic and Practice
An extension of the digital colonoscopy using a rectoscope and proctoscope is a simple method, which can deliver additional, differential diagnostic findings. In the hospital, just as in a gastroenterological surgery, the colonoscopy is among the most common examination procedures. The procedure is relatively quick and produces valid results, regardless of who the examiner is.
Colonoscopy with a Pocket Rectoscope
Often, for a colonoscopy or rectoscopy, a proctological examination device is used that consists of an endoscope with a rigid or flexible tube. The colon and rectum are viewed, allowing the mucous membrane to be observed. However, this requires a relatively high amount of effort in terms of time and personnel. Here, we offer you a simpler alternative. The rectoscope simply consists of a double insufflator, a light source, the so-called rectoscope headpiece and single-use rectoscope tubes.
Quick Availability and Simple Exam Extension
The advantages of observing the anus, rectum and colon with a rectoscope/proctoscope or anoscope are the simple manipulation and the rapid application of the device, since it does not need to first be attached to an endoscopy device. For example, when diagnosing hemorrhoids, the ability to immediately use an anoscope is advantageous for both the patient and the examiner. When examining the rectum, tissue samples can be taken for subsequent histological evaluation; furthermore, the anoscopy can be used for orientation on the hemorrhoidectomy. The area of application extends from anoscopy to proctoscopy and up to rectoscopy, but stops at sigmoidoscopy, as the sigmoideum is mostly no longer educible. If it seems to be diagnostically advisable, the examination can be easily extended by using an additional disposable tube. This allows the rectum evaluation to take place immediately following the proctoscopy. A special anoscope set conceived for evaluating the anal canal and hemorrhoids can be purchased from us and, of course, so can the instrument disinfectants that are needed for reprocessing reusable parts.
Single-Use Tubes for Hygienic Work
The rectoscope tubes are immediately disposed of following use and simplify a hygienic work method. The materials are either supplied in a complete set or you also have the ability to purchase the individual rectoscope parts from us.
