Infection Prevention Clothing for the General Practice, Clinic & Lab
In many areas, it is important to wear disposable clothing that protects the wearer from direct contact with potentially infectious germs. Wearing infection prevention clothing is essential, especially when it comes to activities with unavoidable relation to bodily fluids, such as blood, sputum or urine. The donning of disposable clothing can also protect patients with weakened immune systems.
Among the infection prevention clothing, you will find disposable gowns, overalls, shoe covers, hoods and aprons.
Disposable gowns are worn over your clothing to protect it from contamination. The non-sterile gowns are either made of non-woven material or liquid-impermeable PE and are simply disposed of after being worn. Therefore, one must not change his complete outfit, rather only replace the disposable gown with a fresh one.
Disposable overalls come into use when the entire body including the legs and shoes must be protected from contamination. Depending on the area of application, overalls come in different materials and are liquid-impermeable or even chemical tolerant.
To supplement the disposable overalls, one typically also wears safety glasses, gloves, hoods and shoe covers. In this category, you can order infection prevention clothing in your choice of individual pieces or as a set with supplementary protective wear.
Disposable shoe covers are worn to protect the shoes from dirt, contamination and moisture. These hygienic shoe covers come in a universal size and are simply put on over the top of your work shoes. Generally, shoe covers are made of a liquid-impermeable foil and elastic bands provide a secure hold.
Disposable aprons are often worn as an alternative or supplement to disposable gowns. These liquid-impermeable clothing items notably protect the chest and belly areas and typically extend to the knees. Aprons differ to gowns in that aprons do not have sleeves.
