Monovettes, Microvettes and Sedivettes: Blood Collection Systems from Sarstedt

The S-Monovette blood collection system is particularly popular for blood analysis. The sterile blood collection tubes enable safe collection of venous blood samples and allow a wide range of applications in blood analysis. Depending on the parameter to be determined, the tubes are pre-filled with different substances  (e.g. sodium citrate or heparin) and colour-coded to avoid incorrect use. For example, in our online shop you will find the white-labelled Sarstedt-S Monovette for Serum Collection.

This serum tube contains a granulate made of plastic, which is coated with a coagulation activator. This leads to complete coagulation of the blood and, during the subsequent centrifugation, to a separation between serum and the solid components of the blood.

We also stock S-Monovettes for Haematology (red). The potassium EDTA contained in the tube prevents coagulation and thus enables determination of ions, proteins and hormones. For further analyses, such as blood sugar determination or coagulation analysis, you will find the S-Monovette for Glucose Determination with fluoride (yellow) and the S-Monovette for Coagulation Analysis with citrate (green) or the S-Monovette Lithium-Heparin plasma tubes for the collection of anticoagulated blood (orange). The Monovettes come in packs of 50.

To determine erythrocyte sedimentation rates, you can purchase the S-Sedivette with 3.5 ml volume. It is pre-dosed with citrate and allows sedimentation measurement without decanting. Alternatively you can purchase the Microvette CB 200 ESR. 

This sterile microvette has a three-part system that allows the determination of  sedimentation rates using a capillary blood sample. The small amount required  (only 200 µl) enables a particularly patient-friendly blood collection and examination.
