This medical tuning fork with a foot is for use mainly in ENT settings. It generates the A1 pitch (440Hz) and is used to examine air conduction and bone conduction of sound. Amongst others, the Rinne-Weber and Gelle tests can be performed with this model.
For the diagnosis of otosclerosis, this tuning fork tests the mobility of the ossicular chain (Gellé test). In ear, nose and throat medicine, the tuning fork is suitable for the testing of hearing (Rinne test, Weber test). Rinne and Weber tests are the standard tests used for the examination of hearing loss.
