All-in-One Solution for PCR Rapid Tests - Universal, Intuitive & Fast
Vivalytic is an all-in-one solution for molecular diagnostics directly on site. It is based on years of intensive research and represents an optimal and functional solution for molecular diagnostics. Thanks to an extensive selection of tests for the detection of coronavirus, viral respiratory or sexually transmitted pathogens and many more, the device can be used in many different ways. In order to be able to detect an even wider range of pathogens in the future, the molecular diagnostic Vivalytic platform from Bosch Healthcare Solutions is being permanently expanded with tests from other manufacturers such as Randox, BioGX and R-Biopharm.
During the test run, the Vivalytic Analyser detects the DNA or RNA of the respective pathogens in patient samples. With just one device and the accompanying test cartridges, samples can be tested in a short time. Depending on the test, reliable test results are available after only 39 minutes, effectively minimising long waiting times for staff and patients. In addition, the short duration of the test favours prompt initiation of a targeted therapy. In order to be able to view the results from any point in the facility and to make them quickly accessible to the staff, the diagnostic system can be easily integrated into existing hospital, practice or laboratory IT systems using the HL7, GDT or POCT1-A interface.
The device is so intuitive to use that even healthcare professionals with little lab experience can carry out tests independently after just a short training session. The elimination of complex logistics chains and manual preparation of samples also saves valuable time, which benefits the patient and staff directly.
The Bosch Vivalytic Analyser is 100% made in Germany.
From Sample to Valid Test Result
With the Vivalytic Analyser, complex molecular diagnostic laboratory procedures are fully automated. In order to ensure proper functioning of the device, it is recommended to perform regular quality control tests.
The process, which starts automatically in the device after insertion of the test cartridge, can be divided into five different steps:
Step 1 - Sample Preparation
In this step, the sample is first prepared for the further steps. This ensures that the material is processed under optimal conditions.
Step 2 - Cell Lysis
In order to access the genetic information of the cells, they must first be exposed. The Vivalytic uses ultrasound for this. This causes the cells to break open and the DNA/RNA to be exposed.
Step 3 - Nucleic Acid Extraction
In this step the nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) is purified for PCR amplification.
Step 4 - DNA Amplification
Specific DNA sequences are multiplied using PCR.
Step 5 - Bio-Analytical Detection
In the last step, the amplified DNA is identified by detecting a fluorescence or chemiluminescence signal.

Sophisticated Design
When looking at the Vivaytic analyser, the first thing that catches the eye is the large and clearly arranged touchscreen display (1). During the test run, this provides the user with important information about the current status, the remaining duration, the sample and the test itself. After completion of the test, a clear indication appears on the overview screen whether the test is valid or invalid. The test result can be viewed via the selectable data list. If required, it is possible to print a test report or export it in PDF format.
Another important detail of the Vivalytic is the innovative analyser slot with light bar (2), through which the test cartridge can be inserted into the device. Once the cartridge has been correctly positioned, the analyser automatically starts the test and analyses the patient sample. Below the analyser slot is a circular and recessed button (3). Pressing it switches the analyser to standby or operating mode, depending on its status. In addition, the light elements indicate the current status.
At the bottom of the unit is the handy barcode scanner (4), which can be used to capture both the specific patient barcode and the cartridge barcode for unique identification and assignment. This data is recorded and registered by the Vivalytic. This way, there are hardly any sources of error when performing the test.
