abioSCOPE®

The abioSCOPE® PoC analyser from the manufacturer Abionic is an innovative in-vitro diagnostic point-of-care platform. Thanks to its user-friendly operation and almost completely automated analysis, no time-consuming training is required to become familiar with the device. The functional principle of the analyser is based on biomolecular interactions inside the nanofluidic biosensors located on the capsules. These capsules are available in different versions and form a comprehensive test portfolio. Whether for testing for infection with SARS-CoV-2, sepsis or for determining allergies, D-Dimer or the ferritin value - the abioSCOPE® PoC test device is suitable for numerous areas of application and can also be used flexibly thanks to its compact and lightweight design

In order to accelerate and simplify workflows in medical practices as well as in clinics, laboratories and at the point of care, it is possible to analyse up to 14 parameters simultaneously. At the same time, the test procedure has a number of clinically tested analytical performance features that ensure the reliability of the results. After successful testing, these are displayed on the large touchscreen in the form of a QR code, for example. In combination with the corresponding app, the patient can scan the code and view the test result at any time.Furthermore, thanks to the HL7 interface, it is possible for medical professionals to transfer the data quickly and in encrypted form to external data management systems. To facilitate decision-making, the device offers integrated overview tables.

abioSCOPE® Test Principle

Step 1: The biological sample is diluted with a solution composed of fluorescently labelled biomolecules.

Step 2: The diluted sample is placed in the corresponding capsule where it fills the biosensors inside through capillary action.

Step 3: Now the biomolecules diffuse, interact and form fluorescent molecular complexes within the biosensors.

Step 4: Upon excitation of these molecular complexes, the biosensors generate a fluorescence signal which is analysed in the abioSCOPE®. The amplitude of this fluorescence signal is proportional to the analyte concentration in the patient sample.

Since the innovative technology of the nanofluidic biosensors eliminates both the washing and the cleaning steps, a considerably shorter incubation time is necessary. Once the patient samples have been analysed, the result can be displayed as a QR code for scanning or transmitted to internal patient management systems.
