Microscopes & Accessories for Surgeries, Clinics or Labs
Microscopes provide a maginified view of objects, such as plant elements, microorganisms or tissue. Typically, they are used for objects that are outside of the human visible spectrum. The oldest and simplest microscopy technique is light microscopy, which optically magnifies the object with the help of multiple, stacked glass lenses. The resolution used to view an object through an optical microscope depends on the wave length of the light, in use. A better resolution can be achieved by using electron rays, due to the fact that they have much shorter wave lengths. Microscopes that use electron rays are known as electron microscopes.
Optical Microscopes in the General Practice
The microscope most often used in surgeries, schools and small laboratories is the optical microscope, more accurately known as the fluorescent microscope. These microscopes illuminate the object either from below (transmitted light microscopy) or from above (reflected light microscopy), so that either the contour (transmitted light) or the surface (reflected light) can accurately be viewed.
While transmitted light microscopes are used for completely or partially transparent objects, reflected light microscopes are always used with the object is opaque.
