Rapid Diagnostic Test for the Lab, General Practice & Hospital
A rapid test is a lab test, usually in the form of a cassette, that is used for screenings. The test procedure is usually extremely simple. Most rapid tests do not require more than the test cassette and a few drops of blood. Currently, quick tests are available for detecting varying illnesses and diseases.
The CRP test is a particularly well known rapid test. The rapid CRP test can quickly and reliably detect bacterial infections in blood. This test also provides progress monitoring, as the leukocyte count increases and then sinks after inflammation returns to normal values. The hCG test is used quite often in gynaecological practices. This pregnancy test is a reliable rapid test, which detects chorionic gonadotropin in blood or urine and provides very early results.
