This cassette style, mononucleosis test provides for diagnosis of mononucleosis antibodies (the cause of glandular fever) in serum, plasma and blood.
Mononucleosis, also known as glandular fever or monocytic angina, is a viral infection onset by the Eppstein-Barr virus, which infects approx. 95% of all people up to the age of 30. To clear up the typically insignificant symptoms of drowsiness, weakness or soar throat, this mononucleosis test proves valueable.
This mononucleosis test is carried out as a chromatographic immunoassay. For this, the test membrane is prepared with IM antigens, which react with antigens from an IM infection in the blood sample. The antigen-antibody complex migrates over the membrane and colours the test line red.
Because this mononucleosis test has a proven sensitivity of 99.9% and a specificity for IM antibodies of 98.6%, a proper testing procedure will yield consistantly reliable results.
