Shoes with High Functionality
Whether it's a sneaker or a clog model, the most important thing at work is that the nursing shoe is highly functional and offers a high level of comfort for doctors and nurses. Thus, these shoes have to be comfortable and robust at the same time. One of the characteristics of a good work shoe for healthcare und nursing professionals is a sole with a non-slip tread. Especially in hospitals, liquids are often spilled, so it is important to ensure that the shoes have a suitable tread to prevent accidents at work. In addition, a closed heel is important in order not to slip out of the professional shoes.
There are several reasons why work shoes for nurses and other medical staff are closed at the front: On the one hand, a closed front offers more support, on the other hand, the foot is protected from external influences, for example if a sharp object falls to the ground. The material, such as leather or ethylene vinyl acetate, is usually breathable, hard-wearing and easy to clean, while the material of the non-slip soles is usually antistatic and has been manufactured according to ESD standards. Flat heels and cushioning in the heel area also ensure that work shoes are still comfortable to wear even on a long day.
Specific Footwear for Different Areas
For areas with a very high standard of hygiene, for example in the operating theatre or other hygiene-sensitive areas, we offer autoclavable shoes.
Here you can choose between the autoclavable medical clogs from ABEBA and the anti-slip Oxypas medical shoes 'Oxyclog' with a foldable heel strap for increased comfort.
Safety shoes, which are characterised by their steel toe cap, have long proved their worth in health care.
They reliably protect doctors and nurses from trauma to the foot that can occur, for example, when rolling over beds.
Most people are familiar with the typical white work shoe in the healthcare sector. Nowadays, however, you can choose between many different models of nurse shoes for women and men.
There are clogs, lace-up and slip-on shoes in various designs and colours. Besides white and black, there are now also bright colours like orange, turquoise or pink. Even models with patterns are available.
Whether leather or plastic, the variety of comfortable shoes allows you to make a statement and cheer up patients in the often grey everyday life of a practice or hospital.
Avoid Sweaty Shoes
It is recommended to wear two pairs of shoes alternately. This is because shoes need almost a whole day to thoroughly dry. If the shoe is put on too soon, the humid and warm climate helps germs to settle. Furthermore, shoes should only be washed if this is explicitly stated by the manufacturer. A hygienic shoe climate starts with the choice of socks: The right sock should be able to absorb perspiration but also wick it outwards so that it can be released through the breathable material of the shoe.
