Requirements for HAIX Safety Footwear

DIN EN 20345 regulates the requirements for a safety shoe and is divided into different safety classes. EN 20345 SB sets out the basic requirements that a work shoe must meet in order to be considered a safety shoe. It specifies that there must be toe protection and sets a standard of 200-joules impact-resistance.

In order to comply with safety class S3, safety shoes must fulfil more stringent requirements. In addition to a protective toe cap and an oil- and petrol-resistant sole, the safety boots must ensure adequate protection in damp environments. The upper material of the footwear must be water-repellent and it must have a puncture-resistant sole. S3 safety shoes require the heel area to be closed.
