Medical Clamps
Medical Clamps for Holding, Clamping & Fixing
Surgical clamps are surgical instruments used for grasping and holding. These forceps are mostly used in the operating theatre, where they are used, for example, to grasp and hold tissue or blood vessels during surgery, as a hemostat and to fasten surgical drapes. Depending on the area of application, shape and nature of the branches, a distinction is made according to function between the artery clamp and the cloth clamp, as well as various clamps with proper names such as the Pean clamp, Kocher clamp and Mosquito clamp.
Medical Clamps in Anatomical & Surgical Form
Medical forceps, like medical tweezers, can also be divided into an anatomical and a surgical form. While anatomical forceps hold the tissue atraumatically, surgical forceps are usually provided with a serration, which enables a particularly secure grip on the tissue, but also traumatises the tissue due to the pointed teeth.
Artery Clamp
The artery clamp is used for holding and short-term clamping of severed vessels. The surgical clamps have grooved branches and can be further differentiated according to the shape of the branch ends (straight, curved).
Pean Clamp
The straight pean clamp is an atraumatic, blunt clamp and features a locking device and transversely serrated branches. The instrument is primarily used for haemostasis. We offer Pean forceps as disposable instruments and in the reusable, sterilisable version.
Kocher Clamp
The straight Kocher clamp is hard gripping, comparable to surgical forceps, and features 1:2 serration. The surgical instrument is used in the operating theatre for longer-term retention of robust tissue such as skin and muscle.
Mosquito Clamp
The Mosquito clamp, also called Halsted Mosquito clamp, has only short branches compared to the Pean clamp. In our online shop, we offer Mosquito forceps in various designs - with and without serration - in slightly curved and straight shapes.
Tube Clamps, Towel Clamps & Gynaecological Clamps
In addition to the surgical forceps, we offer further instruments for various fields of application. Clamps for draining and tubing for use in the operating theatre and instruments for gynaecology such as the umbilical cord clamp.
Towel Clamp
The towel clamp is used in the operating theatre to secure drapes. A common form are the Backhaus forceps with tapered ends that allow a secure hold due to their locking mechanism.
Tube Clamp
Medical tubing clamps are used, for example, to clamp drainage tubes or infusion tubes. In most cases, the branches are smooth or cross-grooved so as not to damage the sensitive silicone lines. Medical instruments for the operating theatre and inpatient care are available in metal and plastic and are mostly used as disposable instruments.
Gynaecological Clamps
Special clamps for gynaecology are, for example, umbilical cord clamps that exert even pressure and thus reliably clamp the umbilical cord after birth. In addition, we offer Wertheim hysterectomy forceps in surgical and anatomical form.
Medical Clamps in a Large Selection
In the category medical clamps we offer a large selection of high-quality surgical instruments made of plastic and stainless steel for use in surgery as well as other medical specialities.
