Surgical Scissors

Thanks to their robust build, these surgical instruments are particularly suited for cutting tissue, dressings and suture. They are available in straight or curved design and can be bought with different kinds of blades.

The standard pointed-blunt surgical scissors are ideal for cutting tissue and medical accessories. Surgical scissors that are purely for use in the operating theatre are usually equipped with sharp-sharp scissor blades. Dissecting scissors on the other hand tend to be blunt-blunt. Ligature Scissors

Ligature scissors can easily cut surgical suture and thin surgical wire. 

The surgical instruments often have a recess or notch at the tip of the lower scissor blade, such as the Spencer Ligature Scissors, with which the thread can be lifted and held quite easily.

As a result, the suture can be cut quickly and safely, without pulling on the surrounding tissue.

Dressing Scissors

With bandage scissors, dressing material can not only be quickly and easily cut to the proper size, but these scissors are also ideal for cutting dressings that need to be removed or changed. The bandage shears are designed so as not to injure the patient when cutting the dressing.

For this, one of the scissor blades has a safety tip which helps lift the dressing in a smooth manner without causing injury. Micro Scissors

Micro scissors or spring-loaded scissors are especially fine scissors that are used whenever particularly precise and fine cuts need to be made. In contrast to regular scissors, the blades of micro scissors are closed by pushing the handles together, as is the case with Castroviejo's Micro Scissors. This mechanism allows for instrumentation in cavities with particularly narrow access.

Metzenbaum Scissors

Metzenbaum scissors are surgery scissors with a particularly long handle to open and close the short blades. Since the short blades don't spread as wide as with regular scissors, surgeons can use them to make cuts deep within the patient's body.
