Surgicryl Monofilament
Surgicryl Monofilament is an absorbable, synthetic suture with high tear-resistance. Surgicryl has high tensile strength and causes low tissue reaction; it is popular due to its excellent knotting properties.
Surgicryl is obtained synthetically. This is what provides the monofilament with its constant and even thread diameter, which is not possible with natural sutures. Even the very low tissue reaction is due to the synthetic make up. The reaction is much lower than when using natural sutures.
