Veterinary practices and clinics, on the other hand, mostly use standing models of the lamps with special functions, depending on requirements. It is advisable to mount the infrared heat lamp in such a way that the animals can retreat from the radiated heat. In this way, injuries to the skin and overheating of the animal can be avoided. If the heaters are installed in an outdoor enclosure, a socket outlet should be provided that is protected from water and moisture to prevent damage to the bulb and lamp.

It is also advisable to place the heat lamp in such a way that it is as protected as possible from environmental influences.
