Blood Collection Systems and Accessories for Veterinary Medicine
Animal blood collection is carried out in veterinary medicine for diagnostic purposes. Blood drawing is also done to monitor the effectiveness of the applied treatment or to detoxify patients with help of phlebotomy. There are many blood collection systems available for collecting blood samples and storing them.
Instruments for Veterinary Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy is the therapeutic method of blood drawing that is used for detoxifying the body. With this method, a large amount of blood (up to 10% of the total volume) is drained from the animal using special instruments and sets. These phlebotomy instruments have a wider tube than common veterinary venesection sets, so that are higher volume of blood can flow through. The needle with which the animal's vein is punctured is suited for higher flow rates and allows for a quicker phlebotomy procedure.
Blood Collection Systems for Veterinarians
The choice which blood collection system to use depends on the animal species and the required parameters of the analysis. They are used for safe, vein-friendly blood collection and allow for hygienic storage and uncomplicated sample transportation. Additionally we provide blood collection systems with aspiration and vacuum systems, such as the Monovette (aspiration system) and Vacutainer (vacuum system).
Blood Sedimentation Racks for the Veterinary Lab
Blood sedimentation racks are used to determine the blood sedimentation rate. The blood sedimentation values are determined if there is suspicion of an infectious process. The parameter is evaluated with help of special tubes that allow one to read the blood sedimentation rate.
