Blood Sedimentation Devices

Blood sedimentation devices are tools that determine the BSR value in humans and animals. The BSR value provides information on the "ESR", erythrocyte sedimentation rate. If the values deviate from the norm, this indicates that inflammatory processes are present in the body.

The blood sedimentation rate is determined with the help of special blood sedimentation tubes or pipettes and a blood sedimentation device. The tubes, filled with a specific mix of full blood and sodium citrate, are inserted into the blood sedimentation device. It is scaled to make it easy to read the values and determine the blood sedimentation rate.

Blood sedimentation devices for the different blood sedimentation pipette systems can be purchased from Praxisdienst-VET. They are all suitable for use with the Westergren method, the most common method of measuring the blood sedimentation rate.
