Intravenous catheters for animals can be applied in various ways throughout veterinary medicine. For example, they can be used for infusions and medication administration, as well as for drawing blood. Indwelling catheters offer the advantage of the cannula being removed after setting the catheter allows the catheter to remain in the vein, as it is made from flexible synthetics. This reduces the risk of injury in restless animals.
