Disposable Syringes
The construction of disposable syringes
Disposable syringes are made of a hollow space in the shape of a cylinder and a plunger that can freely move within the cylinder. On the front end of the syringe, there is a Luer or Luer-Lock connector with which various cannulas can be connected with the single-use syringe.
Single-use syringes in various sizes
There is a difference between 2-part and 3-part disposable syringes. While 2-part syringes consist solely of a cylinder and plunger, 3-part syringes also have an additional rubber stopper on the lower end of the plunger to allow small amounts of medication to be extremely precisely injected.
By pulling the plunger back, the disposable syringe can be filled with liquid (medication) to be distributed again by pushing the plunger back down. The Exadoral disposable syringes from B.Braun are used for oral administration of medications and fluids. The purple plunger makes it very easy to differentiate between Luer-Slip and Luer-Lock syringes.
