Catching and Restraining Animals
In many situations, it is necessary to catch an aggressive, fearful or feral animal. This always carries the risk of panicking the animal to the point where it bites or scratches the assistant. It is also possible that the animal can infect the people around it with a disease like rabies.
In the Restraining Equipment category, we offer you a wide range of tools with which scared, aggressive or feral animals can be recaptured.
Dog Catching Poles for Restraining Dogs
Depending on the animal species, different restraining equipment is available. For example, dogs are restrained using a dog catching pole. This special stick has a sling on one end, which is placed around the animal's neck (depending on the model) and tightened if necessary. This allows one to lead the dog from a safe distance without the risk of it attacking the assistant. The pole functions to maintain distance between the assistant and the animal. Many dog catching poles are also equipped with an anti-strangulation device to prevent the dog from strangling itself, if it becomes violent.
Securely Catch Cats with Cat Traps or Grippers
In order to catch aggressive, fearful or feral cats, a cat trap is often used. Padding is found inside the trap to lure the cat inside. When the cat trips a specific mechanism, the opening automatically closes. The captured cat can then be transported to the veterinarian or animal shelter. With the help of grippers, less shy and less aggressive cats can be captured. The grippers also have a long handle with which the animal can be held at a distance. Furthermore, nets and scoop nets can be used to capture cats.
Restraining Other Animals
On farms and stud farms, it is sometimes necessary to restrain pigs, horses, cows and other large animals. For this purpose, there are special tools available, such as pig restrainers, twitches and special lead ropes. These tools are partially species specific and allow for leading the animal in a non-violent manner.
Leather Protective Gloves Protect against Teeth and Claws
In the Restraining Equipment category, you will also find a large selection of special, leather protective gloves that reliably protect the user from bites and scratches. The gloves are cut extra long so that the hand and part of the arm is protected. For dealings with especially large or very aggressive animals, there are also sleeves available that are made from the same material and protect the arm almost all the way up to the shoulder.
Animal restraining equipment not only comes into use in veterinary clinics and animal shelters, but it is also regularly needed in animal parks, zoos and for animal rescue.
