Refractometer
The analogue refractometer serves for quickly and precisely determining the quality of the colostrum in cows and horses. The quality can be determined without great expenditure of time and material by reading the refractive index (%Brix). This value indicates the concentration of gamma globulin per litre of colostrum, thus allowing direct conclusions about its quality. As a result, it can be determined within a very short time, whether the colostrum is suitable for feeding the young animals.
Additionally, the device is equipped with an automatic temperature correction, so the ambient temperature only has to be 20°C during calibration. During subsequent measurements, it can range between 10°C and 30°C without affecting the accuracy.
