Catching Aids
Live traps for cats, dogs and other animals
Animal traps are ideal for catching wild or domestic animals and rodents, such as mice, rats and dormice and are available in different designs. In addition to a high level of durability, live traps should be animal friendly to prevent the trapped animal from being injured or stressed. In our online shop, you can find a selection of high-quality live traps from German name brand manufacturers, allowing a safe and gentle capture of wild or lost animals. Our smaller box traps, such as our cat trap are equipped with a carrying handle for safe and easy transportation.
The operation of live traps
The operation of box traps to catch small and large live animals is generally based on a standardised principle to allow for an uncomplicated use. It allows for a fast set up of the traps and a safe release of the animals. Particularly wild animals like martens, foxes, rats and mice are caught frequently to gently relocate them.
Before use, the live trap has to be arranged correctly. This is done by opening its trap doors and preparing the locking mechanism to be activated by entering the trap, or by stepping on the bait rocker inside the trap.
Then, a bait is placed in a way that forces the animal to completely enter the trap in order to reach it. By touching the bait, the animal activates a mechanism that causes the doors to close.
As a result, the animal has no way to escape. The folding box trap from Kerbl made of galvanised wire mesh is also very easy to clean and thus ensures a particularly long service life.
To avoid further stressing the animal, it should be released from the trap as soon as possible. This also prevents wild animals from being attracted and transmitting diseases.
Cat traps for live captures
Standardised cat traps are used to safely catch agressive, wild or stray cats. They allow for a safe capture of the live animals to examine them and relocate them to a new habitat.
The traps are large enough to give the cats enough space during their stay without constricting them too much. In addition to cats, these traps are spacious enough to be used for martens, raccoons and foxes.
To prevent the traps from standing out in areas with poor vegetation and scaring the cat off, the traps are also available in inconspicuous colours. As a result, the traps can be set up in ordinary gardens and on rocky grounds.
The live traps in our assortment are galvanised, making them robust, durable and weather-resistant. The special powder coating of the cat trap from Teledart® grants a particularly high level of durability.
In addition, the live trap is equipped with a continuous base to prevent the animal's paws and claws from getting caught. The cat trap can also be used as a fox or marten trap.
Large live trap for dogs, foxes and martens
In addition to catching cats, raccoons, mice and rats, it is sometimes also necessary to catch dogs. This is the case, if they ran away of were abandoned by their owner.
The measurements of these robust live traps for dogs are fitted to the dogs' needs. Generally, the length and height of the live traps can fit large dogs with a shoulder height of more than 80cm.
The box trap can be folded for easy transport despite its size. The large stainless steel dog trap from Teledart is suitable for catching feral and escaped dogs and canines. The foldable cage is equipped with a trap door and a folding door to prevent the animal's tail from being crushed.
In our online shop, we offer a foldable dog trap to allow for an easy transport and storage despite its size. Our animal friendly dog trap is available with robust wire mesh and instructions for use.
