Is the Golden A5 2speed suitable for animals with matted fur?
The Oster Golden A5 2speed is certainly suitable for clipping dogs of all breeds–large areas of matted hair, however, should be removed beforehand using scissors. To achieve the ideal clipping results, it is helpful to comb the animal's fur to remove large knots before clipping. Washing the animal before shearing can also help to extend the lifespan of the clipper blade.
Can I also use the Oster Golden A5 2speed to trim animals with a thick undercoat?
Yes, these clippers are suitable for poodles and Havanese dogs, as well as for dogs with a thick undercoat, such as collies, newfoundlands and sheepdogs.
