FlexiOH® - An Innovative Solution for Orthopaedics
The FlexiOH® Immobilizers are excellent for orthopaedic immobilisation of fractures of the extremities. Unlike conventional plaster casts, the OrthoHeal splints have 46% open areas that ensure good air circulation. In this way, unpleasant sweating under the bandage is reduced and skin irritation is prevented.
In addition, the material of the FlexiOH® immobilizer is completely waterproof and can therefore be worn without any problems while showering or bathing. With the help of the biocompatible padding, which separates the skin and the fixed cast, wearing comfort is additionally increased and injuries and irritations of the skin due to friction are avoided.
Since fractures have to be x-rayed at regular intervals during checkups, the material also has x-ray permeability. This means that the cast can remain in place permanently until the fracture is completely healed without having to be removed. This not only facilitates convalescence, but also reduces the workload for the medical staff.
Thanks to the practical zip system, the innovative disposable orthosis can be quickly and easily applied to the patient's limb and removed without additional equipment such as saws or spreaders. In contrast to applying a plaster cast, which has to be soaked in water and therefore takes a long time to dry, FlexiOH® cures within 3 to 10 minutes with the Rizycure® light device, which is available separately.
