MediSets® - Sterile Disposable Sets from Hartmann

Hartmann's MediSet® is a range of ready-to-use, pre-prepared care procedure trays. The MediSets® offer numerous advantages compared to the use of individual products, e.g. they consist exclusively of disposable components, have a long sterile shelf life and can be individually supplemented with own products, such as suture materials.

Save Time with Hartmann MediSets®

The MediSet® complete sets are pre-packed and ready for immediate use. This eliminates time-consuming searches for individual components which saves valuable time both in routine procedures as well as in emergencies. In addition, the MediSets are packed in such a way that the components can be taken out according to the order in which they are used/needed. This makes work easier for the medical staff and helps to optimise workflows.

Disposable Products to Protect Patients

Each MediSet® consists exclusively of disposable components that are disposed of immediately after use. This ensures the highest level of hygiene and effectively eliminates the transmission of infections through contaminated reusable material. Since no reprocessing is required, additional costs are saved. In addition, the disposable instruments contained in the MediSets® offer maximum functionality, as there are no signs of wear and tear. 

Guaranteed Residue-Free

Despite all the care taken during reprocessing, residue can still sometimes be found on reusable instruments. This happens above all with frequently used instruments that have already undergone several reprocessing procedures. The wear of the material can cause roughening of smooth surfaces, from which it is particularly difficult to remove incrustations. The disposable instruments contained in the MediSet® are new, perfectly reprocessed, show neither material wear nor residue and thus ensure optimal hygiene.

Cut Costs with the MediSets®

The MediSets® from Hartmann offer cost savings on several levels. On the one hand, via the time saved on preparation and, on the other hand, via the time and costs that are saved by eliminating reprocessing. Neither instrument disinfectants nor materials for sterilisation need to be kept in stock and no staff are required to carry out reprocessing. The long sterile shelf life also contributes to the cost-effectiveness of the MediSets® and ensures that stocking the complete sets is profitable even for smaller practices. 

MediSets® Components

Each Hartmann MediSet® consists of different components which are put together according to the procedure to be carried out. The contents can be divided into approximately 3 groups: Peha®-instrument single-use instruments, dressing materials & drapes and accessories. 

Peha®-instrument Single-Use Instruments

The main components of most MediSet® complete sets are the Peha®-instrument single-use instruments from Hartmann.

These individually sterile-packed instruments are made of high-quality stainless steel with a matt brushed finish to prevent reflections during procedures. To prevent any mix up between disposable and reusable instruments, all disposable instruments are labelled as such on both sides.

The Peha®-instruments ensure optimal handling and do not pose any risk of infection transmission or cross-contamination ensuring perfect hygienic and functional use.

As the single-use instruments are disposed of immediately after use, time-consuming and cost-intensive reprocessing is not necessary and the risk of reprocessing-related injuries to staff is also eliminated. 

Peha®-instruments combine the advantages of reusable instruments with those of hygienic disposable instruments.

Hartmann Dressing Materials

The wound care sets, dressing sets and suture sets as well as the sets for catheter placement all contain dressing materials from Hartmann.

The compresses and swabs come in different designs depending on the indication. Depending on the application of the set, fleece or gauze compresses, loop gauze or gauze swabs are included in different thicknesses and sizes.

In addition, the MediSets® also contain surgical drapes, slit or fenestrated, to demarcate the surgical/treatment area and enable hygienic work. 

Just like the instruments, the dressing materials and drapes included in the sets are sterile, in order to meet the highest hygiene requirements and to enable use in the operating theatre.

All the products in the sets are original Hartmann articles in the usual high quality, to ensure optimal treatment quality. 

Accessories for Treatments

Depending on the treatment, other products are needed in addition to sterile instruments, dressing materials and drapes. These accessories mainly include vessels in which either disinfectant can be administered or liquids, such as urine (in the MediSet® catheter sets), can be collected. In addition to kidney dishes, these vessels also include transparent cups and bowls made of plastic. 

Other accessories that are often included in MediSets® are, for example, examination gloves made of latex, syringes or stoppers. Such products are mainly included in the catheter and dialysis sets.

In order to make it easier for the user to stock the sets economically and to facilitate individual adaptation to the patient, the Hartmann MediSets® do not contain any size-specific products, such as bladder catheters or urine bags. These products must be supplemented by the medical staff according to indications and the patient. 

MediSet® Wound Care Sets

The MediSet® wound care sets are adapted to different wound types and sizes. In addition to sterile compresses for wound dressings and swabs for cleaning the wound, they usually also contain tweezers for the hygienic application of dressing materials and scissors for cutting the dressing material. These sets can also be supplemented individually, e.g. with wound irrigation or ointments.

MediSet® Suture Sets and Thread Pulling Sets

The MediSet® wound suture sets contain all products required for primary wound closure by means of surgical suture. These sets are supplemented only by the needle-suture combination required for the respective wound.

With the help of the MediSet® suture removal sets, non-absorbable sutures can be removed quickly and safely. The sets contain specially shaped thread-pulling knives with which the threads can be cut effortlessly. 

MediSets® for Preoperative Disinfection

The MediSets® for preoperative wound disinfection contain a beaker for skin disinfectant as well as swabs and a clamp with which the disinfectant can be applied to the skin over a wide area. The appropriate skin disinfectant is added to the beaker by the user.

MediSet® Catheter Sets

The MediSet® catheter sets enable systematic, sterile work during catheterisation. Whether for intermittent single-use catheterisation or permanent catheterisation for men or women - Hartmann has a MediSet® for every situation. The necessary bladder catheters and urine bags are added by the user.
