Hygienic Spirometry with ndd Medizintechnik AG
If you are looking for consistent results in spirometry, the spirometers from the manufacturer ndd are the right choice. A combination of various innovative technologies and well thought-out accessories not only guarantees reliable and accurate measurement results in surgeries, but also ensures an optimal workflow and a high level of infection protection at the same time.
The main goal of all devices is to improve the early detection and diagnosis of COPD and other chronic lung diseases. With this concept, ndd has been established as a global pioneer in lung function diagnostics for more than 20 years. In collaboration with various health services, non-profit organisations and lung specialists, ndd's mission is to raise awareness about respiratory disease, educate and sensitise physicians.
High Protection against Infection with ndd Inline Filter Solutions
As the potential for infection during spirometry is particularly high, ndd Medizintechnik AG has come up with several ideas to minimise this for both patients and staff. In addition to an easy-to-clean design and the use of TrueFlow technology, which means that no fragile sensor parts need to be cleaned, accessories such as spirettes and flowtubes are intended for single use.
In addition, ndd Medizintechnik AG has designed a sophisticated filter solution. Depending on the device, suitable filter adapters are available either for the Spirette or the Flow Tube for combining the corresponding filters with the adapter. The ndd Inline Filter, for example, not only provides a high level of protection against cross-contamination, but also delivers reproducible and accurate results. It complies with the ATS/ERS standards.
Innovative Technology TrueFlow
During the development of robust flow sensors for spirometers and pulmonary function devices, ndd developed the innovative TrueFlow technology, which consists of several independent components that are perfectly aligned with each other and measure air flows consistently. It represents a resistance-, contact- and calibration-free measuring system whose basic measuring principle is based on two ultrasonic signals which are transmitted diagonally across the flow path.
While the signal moving with the flow is accelerated, the signal moving against the flow is decelerated. The flow velocity results from the difference between the different running times. With error-free evaluation, the environmental conditions are eliminated. Therefore, the manufacturer assures a calibration-free system with precise measurement accuracy.
In addition, all devices from ndd Medizintechnik AG meet the latest ATS/ERS standards. Not only did they contribute to far-reaching changes in user-friendliness, but they were particularly noticeable in the quality assessment of the measured FEV1 and FVC parameters. Apart from clear indications of quality criteria that have not been fulfilled, the user receives hands-on instructions on how to guide his patient towards improved performance.
EasyOne Connect - Integrated Software Platform from ndd
EasyOne Connect software, already integrated in all devices, can be set up on multiple PCs and offers all the functions for comprehensive pulmonary function testing, such as user-defined provocation test protocols, test quality assessment, evaluation of results and import of external pulmonary function tests.
In addition, the software offers motivating animations for children, a practical commenting function and can also be used for data management and in EMR integration. All collected data is securely protected both in sleep mode and during transmission.
EHR/EMR Connection of the ndd Devices
All ndd Medizintechnik AG spirometers are compatible with the most common and important EMR providers and support bidirectional HL7/XML data exchange.
Compatible EMR Providers:
Allscripts, Aprima, athenahealth, Cerner Millennium/Powerchart, Epiphany Cardio, Epic, Medformix Vue, Meditech, Meditrax, Nextgen, Praxtice Fusion, SystemOne, WebChart
Die ndd Spirometer EasyOne Air und Easy on-PC im Vergleich
When looking at the EasyOne and the Easy on-PC spirometers, the first thing that stands out is the large colour touch screen of the EasyOne device, while the Easy on-PC device is a purely PC-based system. Therefore, the Easy on-PC is particularly suitable for stationary use. The EasyOne, on the other hand, can be used both as a mobile and stationary device thanks to various modes and a long-lasting battery. Both devices are approved as medical devices and have a large selection of menu languages so that users from different origins can navigate the device perfectly.
The mobile EasyOne transfers data via Bluetooth or USB as required, while the PC-based unit does not support the Bluetooth function. In both cases, the collected data can be easily printed via a direct print control or via the network. The internal memory of both systems is sufficient for up to 10,000 tests. Instant quality feedback and guaranteed reliable results ensure a high level of user safety.
