The TOP 100 Innovation Award


TOP 100 is the only innovation competition in Germany that awards medium-sized companies for their innovation management and innovation success based on a scientifically sound investigation of more than 100 criteria in five different categories. No individual products are honoured, but all stages of the innovation process are carefully considered and examined.

Praxisdienst was nominated for the innovation award by the municipality where our company is located. We are proud to be among the TOP 100 in our size category. Innovation and customer satisfaction are at the heart of how we work and the TOP 100 award is both confirmation that we are on the right track and of the huge potential of the company. One thing is certain, we will continue to develop and innovate in order to grow and maintain customer satisfaction.

How does the selection procedure work and what is examined?

The innovation potential of companies is assessed in five categories:


  • Innovation Success
  • Innovation Climate
  • Innovative Processes und Organisation 
  • External Orientation/Open Innovation
  • Top Management Promoting Innovation

Not only is the market success of new products and services as well as cost savings through process innovation assessed, but also the innovation potential within the company. To ensure all participants have an equal footing, the seal is awarded in three size categories. The benchmarking is designed in such a way that sector-specific characteristics are also taken into account. This makes it possible to compare companies from different sectors. Service providers, for example, have the same chances of receiving an award as manufacturing companies.

How strict is the TOP 100 selection process?

Participants compete in three size categories: up to 50 employees, 51 to 200 employees and companies with more than 200 employees. A maximum of 100 companies are awarded per size category. Each year, well over 3,000 companies are interested in participating, but for the vast majority of them the requirements of the selection process are too high. Even the application for TOP 100 is a major challenge. More than 500 companies overcome this hurdle and finally submit their application. Only those who think they have a chance of making it to the finish line enter the competition. Nevertheless, on average 30 to 40 percent of the companies drop out along the way, which is testament to the strict selection process.

Who is behind the TOP 100 innovation award?

The data collected is evaluated by Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team. The innovation potential of a company assessed in this process determines who will be included in the new TOP 100. Prof. Dr. Franke is the scientific director of TOP 100 and head of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. He is considered one of the world's leading innovation researchers.

SSB Service: Save Valuable Time & Money

In Germany many medical practice supplies (Sprechstundenbedarf, SSB) are reimbursable. In German medical practices and clinics ordering SSB supplies is one of the most unpopular tasks for various reasons. It often takes a lot of time to find out whether a certain item falls under SSB supplies or not. In case of doubt, such articles end up being paid out of the practice's own budget. In addition, specialist staff lose valuable time that could be spent on the care of patients, for example. Our comprehensive SSB service for practices and clinics located in Germany takes care of this unpopular, time-consuming task for you.


We offer our customers a comprehensive and completely free SSB service. All Praxisdienst customers have to do is send us their order, we check it, issue the corresponding SSB prescription if applicable and bill the relevant health insurance company. Thanks to the new shop feature, it is also possible to see at first glance which products are classed as SSB. This makes it easier for our customers to make a purchase decision.

Fully Automated Storage System: More Safety & Efficiency 

In recent years, Praxisdienst has worked continuously to meet ever-growing demands. In addition to expanding our storage capacities, we have also massively increased the efficiency of our warehouse


In 2023, our main warehouse in Longuich, which covers a total area of 7,000 m2, will hold approximately 35,000 items spread over 40,000 storage locations. 25,000 of these storage locations are fully automated and are now served by a total of 21 robots. The multi-award-winning AutoStore system offers unsurpassed operational reliability and helps us to achieve a significant efficiency advantage compared to standard manual warehouse operations. The power consumption for the operation of the AutoStore is completely covered by the photovoltaic system on the roof of the logistics building.


By recording every single item with the help of a barcode scanner, we offer our customers a high level of security and can trace all processes in our warehouse completely and reliably down to the smallest detail. In addition, the recorded information can be transferred to our system so that all relevant information such as batch number, expiry date and much more is accessible
