Dermatological Examinations in Veterinary Clinics
Dermatoscopes are used in dermatology for the examination of the skin — including in veterinary medicine. These advanced devices make it possible to visualise details of skin alterations that would otherwise remain hidden to the naked eye. This significantly facilitates, or even enables, accurate diagnosis.
In dogs, cats, and other animals, dermatoscopes can be used especially on areas of the body with little fur to assess, among other things, pigmented skin lesions. This aspect of diagnostics serves as a complement to clinical and histological examination methods used for skin diseases.
