Arm- and Leg Rests

In medical practices and hospitals, arm- and leg rests are used to elevate and support extremities during medical examinations and treatments. The support can be used both to support arms during blood samples and to elevate legs during bandage changes. The low weight of the arm- and leg rest permits transport, allowing it to be used in different locations. As a result it is more flexible and easier to use than blood drawing chairs or examination couches.

 

Versatile Application as an Armrest

In the medical practice, arm- and leg rests are generally used as arm supports. They are predominately used during blood samples, where the mobile support is placed next to a chair. The forearm is then placed on the rest, which provides a comfortable support thanks to its ergonomically shaped surface.

 

Wound care and bandage changes present further potential applications. As the armrest can be adjusted in height, it can be adapted to the individual needs of the patients, which facilitates treatments.

 

Leg Rests for Wound Care

The support is generally used as a leg rest for wound care, e.g. during bandage changes. Since the height of the rest is adjustable, the patient can be treated while sitting on an examination table as well as a normal chair.

 

Additionally, the tilt of the support is adjustable, allowing the position of the leg to be adjusted to individual needs.

Leg Rests for Wound Care

The leg rest is primarily used during wound care, such as dressing changes. Since the height of the leg support is adjustable, patients can be treated both while seated on a couch or a chair. Additionally, the angle of the support surface can be adjusted, allowing the position to be tailored to the specific treatment requirements.

 

To ensure comfortable positioning of the leg, the supports are equipped with PU foam padding. The materials used can also be easily disinfected, ensuring that the arm and leg supports can be used according to hygiene standards even with higher patient throughput.

 

Arm and Leg Rests Available in Various Designs

The arm and leg rests available at Praxisdienst are generally made from a chrome-plated steel frame and can be adjusted both in height and in the angle of the support surface. This allows the rests to be individually adapted to the specific treatment situation. The padding material also ensures comfortable support of the extremities.

 

Depending on the model, the arm and leg rests are available with non-slip feet or conductive, lockable castors. There is also an arm rest combined with a matching saddle stool, forming a compact treatment unit. This space-saving stool-arm rest combination is connected by a metal bar, providing extra stability and preventing the arm rest from slipping. The castors make it easy to manoeuvre the treatment unit or rests, improving handling convenience.
