Medical Soap for Clean Hands

Whether through handshakes or contact with shared objects, hands frequently come into contact with germs and can transmit pathogens or other microorganisms. Thorough and regular handwashing is one of the most important rules of hand hygiene and infection prevention in healthcare, providing an effective measure to break the chain of transmission.

Washing hands carefully with water and soap significantly reduces the number of germs transferred. The risk of passing pathogens to colleagues or patients is lowered through proper handwashing. Correct technique is essential: hands should first be placed under running water, then thoroughly lathered with soap. Make sure the palms, backs of the hands, fingertips, spaces between fingers, thumbs, and nails are all properly coated and rubbed with soap.

For hygiene reasons, liquid soap should be preferred over bar soap. The washing process should last at least 20 to 30 seconds. Once all areas of the hands have been thoroughly lathered, rinse them under plenty of running water until all soap residues are removed. Finally, dry the hands with a single-use paper towel.

Gentle hand washes for sensitive skin

For sensitive skin and delicate skin types, gentle liquid soaps and medical hand washes with mild ingredients are ideal. For example, the Baktolin® sensitive wash lotion is completely soap- and alkali-free and dermatologically tested. It contains allantoin and is suitable for frequent hand washing. Antibacterial Soap

Disinfecting soaps and wash lotions possess antimicrobial or disinfecting properties, inhibiting the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, or fungi on the skin. They are ideal not only for cleaning the hands and skin of medical personnel but also for washing patients with MRSA or other multidrug-resistant pathogens in hospitals. Certain wash lotions can also be used for hair washing.
