Examination Gloves: Protection for Healthcare Staff and Patients
Examination gloves are one of the most essential disposable items in healthcare and play a key role in preventing infections and cross-contamination. Typically used as single-use gloves, they protect both healthcare professionals and patients by preventing direct skin-to-skin contact. To ensure quality, manufacturers test gloves for leaks, small holes, and tears, with results reported as the accepted quality level (AQL). For medical standards, a high manufacturing quality of AQL 1.5 is required.
Latex Gloves
Latex gloves offer excellent elasticity, fit, and tactile sensitivity, making them ideal for many medical applications. They are widely used in examinations, minor procedures, and routine patient care. Our latex gloves are tested to meet strict medical standards and are available in various sizes and forms to suit different needs.
Nitrile Gloves
Nitrile examination gloves are similarly tear-resistant and durable as latex gloves, but they offer slightly less stretch. The tactile sensitivity and wearing comfort are comparable to latex gloves. Since nitrile gloves are latex-free, they are an ideal alternative for users or patients with a latex allergy. Many nitrile gloves also feature micro-textured fingertips, providing a very secure grip. In our online shop, you will find a wide selection of high-quality nitrile gloves, such as Teqler black nitrile gloves or Unigloves Pearl nitrile gloves available in many other colours.
Medical Disposable Gloves from Vinyl, PE, and Copolymers
Less common than latex or nitrile gloves are disposable gloves made from other materials such as vinyl, PE, or copolymers. These gloves are generally transparent and have little to no elasticity. They are commonly used for short-term tasks or procedures that do not require high durability or stretch.
Sterile & Non-Sterile Examination Gloves in a Wide Selection
In our Examination Gloves category, you will find a large selection of high-quality, non-sterile disposable gloves suitable for use across all medical settings. Options include powder-free latex gloves, nitrile gloves, and vinyl gloves for those with latex allergies, as well as caring examination gloves with a moisturizing inner coating. Additionally, we offer finger cots made of latex, which are used, for example, in rectal examinations.
Generally, medical disposable gloves are powder-free and non-sterile, as routine examinations and treatments do not require sterile protective equipment. However, if you need sterile disposable gloves, we offer sterile copolymer gloves from Dahlhausen, available in sizes S to L and individually or pair-packed.
In the Hygiene category, you can find an overview of additional hygiene products to protect both patients and staff, including disinfectants, cleaning and care products, and paper products.
