Microscope Specimens for Teaching and Viewing Purposes

In this category, you can find already finished and preserved microscope specimen slides that are durable and can be reused multiple times. As a result, the reusable slides are ideal for teaching and viewing purposes in the classroom.


Preserved Microscope Slides and Histological Specimens

Beim Mikropräparat wird das Präparat in der Regel zwischen Objektträger und Deckglas angebracht und mit einem speziellen Medium konserviert. Bei der Herstellung der Mikropräparate können zum Beispiel Gliedmaßen kleiner wirbelloser Tiere, Pflanzenteile oder Zellen konserviert werden. In unserem Online-Shop finden Sie hierzu ein Mikroskoppräparate-Set mit Präparate-Klassikern wie Zwiebelepidermis, Insektenbeinen oder Insektenflügeln. Das Set, bestehend aus 35 Fertigpräparaten, ist ideal für Anfänger, die einen ersten Einblick in die Mikroskopie erhalten wollen.

Bei histologischen Präparaten handelt es sich um Mikropräparate, bei denen zwischen Objektträger und Deckglas Gewebeproben bzw. Gewebeschnitte aufgebracht werden. Bei der Präparation wird neben dem Konservierungsmittel häufig noch ein Färbemittel eingesetzt, um bestimmte Zellstrukturen besser sichtbar zu machen. 

Microscopy Preparations & Staining Techniques

Common staining methods include hematoxylin (e.g., for isolated skeletal muscle fibres), hematoxylin-eosin (HE) (e.g., for loose connective tissue), or silver staining (e.g., for spinal ganglia). Particularly popular is the durable preparation set with 100 human histology specimens, including samples of nerve cells, glandular epithelium, bone marrow, and lymph nodes. The microscopic specimens in this set are delivered in a wooden box, which provides safe storage and transport of the samples.

 

Storage Cases for Optimal Preservation

Not only the type of preparation affects the durability of the specimens, but also how they are stored. To protect the samples from sunlight, dirt, dust, and mechanical stress, various storage cases are available, allowing microscope slides to be neatly organised. These cases also make transporting the specimens easy. At Praxisdienst, you can find cases made from different materials for up to 50 or 100 micro-preparations. For storing or transporting smaller quantities, such as two or twenty specimens, we offer protective cardboard folders with lids.
